After flying into San Antonio, I picked up my rental car and headed straight to Uvalde. It is a nice drive to Uvale. There is no major highway, it is a county road that runs from San Antonio. When I reached Uvalde I went to the museum for Vice President Garner. The museum is his former home. When I was there the upstairs was closed because they were working on it. After his wife passed away he had a smaller house built behind the main house. I believe it was torn down in the mid 1980's.
To reach the cemetery he is buried in, is some what simple. It is located on the out side of town on highway 90. The cemetery is on the outskirts of Uvalde. Depending on which way you are going on 90 will help you get to the cemetery. There are two seperte areas for the Uvalde cemetery. If you are going West the cemetery will be on the left hand side, if you are going east it will be on the right handside. They have signs pointing the way to the cemetery and when you enter the cemetery the have signs. His grave is marked with a flag pole and there is a power tower behind the fence of the cemetery.
